The SR520 Eastside Transit and HOV Project utilizes a collaborative design/build approach to civil/urban design and construction. Collaborated with personnel from WSDOT, the general contractor and other consultants and designers, Valley is contracted to provide power, illumination and signal design for approximately three miles of highway, transit and urban scopes of work. The project highlights include an improved six-lane corridor with two general-purpose lanes and one transit/HOV lane in each direction, three highway lids that will provide local townships with urban parks and regional transit access, along with median transit stops at Evergreen Point Road and 92nd Avenue NE. In addition, the project includes a regional bicycle and pedestrian path, an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT). Valley also replaced and/or installed 6 signalized intersections.
Scope Performed: Design and installation of 6 City of Bellevue intersections. Design and installation of roadway illumination and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) power. Installation and testing of all ITS systems. Project required extensive temporary power, lighting and ITS to keep the roadway operational while the roadway was being shifted in multiple phases to allow for construction
