Murray Morgan Bridge Rehabilitation Design Build

This project for the City of Tacoma involves the full rehabilitation of a 99-year-old vertical lift bridge over the Foss Waterway in Tacoma, Washington. The structure consists of lattice column and girder construction, two fixed truss spans with integral lift towers, a lift span that houses the span drive machinery and a precast column, and a cap-and-girder approach. Valley was responsible for the lighting and electrical to the new bridge control equipment. This project won the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP) – Outstanding Achievement in Historic Preservation.
