Harborview Medical Center

This project was an expansion of the trauma center at Harborview Medical Center, located on Seattle’s First Hill. The project included 14 floors of new construction housing, operating rooms, surgery support, ICU, CCU, voluntary and involuntary psych, orthopedics and other medical areas. Construction included six levels of new sky bridges, which house offices and sleep rooms that span 9th avenue between IEB and the existing Harborview Medical Center. The existing north wing emergency department was also renovated.  This entire project spanned almost a three year period, and peak manpower topped 54 men. The project was later renamed the Norm Maleng building. The total new construction area measured 252,192 square feet.
