The 330,000-sf, phase 1 expansion adds (80) beds in a new high-rise patient care building that connects to an existing building with a 5-story pedestrian bridge. A new emergency department occupies the ground floor. Other additions include a kitchen and service dock. Additionally, installed were raceways, new CCTV system, connections for heat trace equipment, temporary power, generator switch gear, seismic fixture wires, and we were responsible for electrical demolition.

Phase 2 included extensive shell and core and tenant improvements, valued in excess of $20M electrical including several significant projects; the Sand Point Way Administration Building housing offices and a data center, the (625) stall Whale Parking Garage, and the Melinda French Gates Ambulatory Care Building. This new facility allowed consolidation of Seattle Children’s ambulatory care services into one building. Construction of this new ambulatory care wing also required building out 30K-sf of temporary space before demolishing two existing wings of the hospital to maintain hospital operations during the three-year project process.
