This project constructed a new 19,000-sf 8 million gallons per day to 12 million gallons per day water treatment plant for the City of Lynden, and improved treatment processes used at the City’s existing plant and increased capacity that now complies with current regulations and allows for future growth. The contract included construction of new headworks with grit removal, dewatering room, rapid mix, flocculation and sedimentation basins, dual-media deep-bed filters, UV disinfection, clearwell, finished water pumping, backwash water equalization tank and sludge thickener. The contract included reinforced concrete, miscellaneous metals, masonry, process mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, site works and new access to the plant including asphalt paving, concrete sidewalk and gutter, and related work in the right-of-way.
