The Green River Filtration Facility is located on 100 acres in the Green River Watershed and has the capacity to filter 150 million gallons of water a day. The facility features (2) 1,500 KW, 12,470 volt Diesel engine generators that supply the plant through state of the art paralleling switchgear. The power routes through miles of on-site duct banks. The plant boasts SCADA interface control through all actuators, pumps, Motor Controllers, VFD’s, etc., and is locally controlled via HMI’s (Human Interface Machine) throughout the plant. This project has similarities to the WWSS in that the process controls are 100% automated without human intervention. The project was an expansion of an existing clean water facility resulting in 150 MGD capacity. The scope included the installation of distribution equipment, lighting, systems, Instrumentation installation, and commissioning. The facility provides clean drinking water to over 300,000 people in the greater Tacoma area.
