Grand Coulee Dam Powerhouse Upgrade

The goal was to increase the amount of power produced and to extend the life of the generating units by up to four decades. Part of the rehabilitation work was an effort to boost the three smaller power generators to a capacity of 770 megawatts of power each. The end result increased 240 more megawatts of power. The scope of work included installation of conduit, power and control wiring for CCTV, security controls on doors, windows and new entry gates. The Third Power Plant fixed-wheel gate components were modified to be in compliance with Life Safety and Electrical Codes.
