The crew at Delta Garage has made huge progress over the last few months! We got all three of the Ninja 250s we were working on for Cascade Motorcycle Safety up and running, as well as finishing a Predator 212 engine upgrade on our Coleman mini bike that yielded a machine so feral that we couldn’t actually let the kids ride it in good conscience 😬. It has been incredible to see how quickly the participant’s skills—and passion for the work—are developing.
We’re excited to report that thanks to the support of donors like you and another generous grant received in October from the Taylor Family Fund (via the outstanding folks at the Community Foundation of Snohomish County), we’re rolling into the new year firing on all cylinders. In January, along with our friends at Valley Electric, we were able to start work on the final phase of our shop build-out: a complete compressed air system to run our blasting cabinet and pneumatic tools.
In the queue at Delta Garage…
Over the coming months the crew will continue working on two complete rebuilds of a Honda SL100 from the early 80’s and a 1972 Honda CB175 (pictured below). We’ll also be working hard behind the scenes to recruit additional participants by growing our relationships with local diversion and drug treatment programs for youth in our community.
